Are you between 8 and 15 years old? Do you dream of living an extraordinary adventure, a language exchange, by spending six months in a new country with a new family, and then welcoming your brother or sister from abroad?
If so, this program is for you!
Not at all! Many children begin their exchange with little or no knowledge of the host country’s language. This is one of the unique aspects of our program.
Success in our exchanges doesn’t depend on academic performance. Instead, we value children with positive attitudes, adaptability, and respect for others. We seek loving families with strong educational values and motivated children who are eager to embrace this unique opportunity.
During the first week, the child may speak in their native language while adapting to their new surroundings. From the second week onwards, the host family will communicate exclusively in their own language. Children are encouraged to immerse themselves fully by avoiding their native language in reading, writing, or speaking, except during weekly calls home.
To ensure full integration, children must refrain from using their original social media accounts. Instead, they may use platforms approved by their host family. This is a key element of the exchange experience, helping participants connect with their new environment and leave behind their old routines for six months.
Children must demonstrate respect at all times:
Respect for themselves :
Respect for their host families, parents, siblings, teachers, and classmates.
By following these guidelines, children can enjoy a successful and enriching exchange experience.
Trusting us.
This is the first and most important thing. We have nearly 50 years of experience in exchanges, and every member of our team has participated in multiple exchanges. So trust us, and everything will go well for your child. If we ask you to respect the rules of contact between families and with your children, it is because it is essential for the success of the exchange.
Trusting your child.
This is the second thing. Believe in their ability to integrate. Believe in them. They will succeed even more in their exchange if they feel supported by you.
Finally, prepare for a good dose of humility.
As educators, this is probably the most challenging but also the most rewarding profession in terms of human connections. One of the keys is to have a sense of humility that fosters positive relationships between people. Thanks to the exchange, you will all grow: both children and parents.
